About Disha Talks
Welcome to Disha Talks
I’m Disha, the creator behind Disha Talks, a YouTube channel and blog where I talk about relationships, marriage, psychology, self-worth, and the cultural expectations that shape the way we live.
I started Disha Talks because I kept noticing how many things we accept simply because we were taught to accept them.
Especially when it comes to women, relationships, marriage, family, beauty, and the idea of what a “good” woman is supposed to be.
A lot of these expectations become so normal that we stop questioning them.
Why do we feel guilty for saying no?
Why do we tolerate things in relationships that make us unhappy?
Why does arranged marriage sometimes become more about pleasing families than understanding the two people getting married?
Why are women constantly told to adjust, compromise, look a certain way, behave a certain way, and still somehow remain happy through all of it?
These are the kinds of questions I like exploring here.
What is Disha Talks about?
Disha Talks looks at the psychological and cultural realities of modern Indian life, especially when they affect women and our relationships with ourselves and other people.
I write about relationships, dating, marriage, arranged marriage, self-worth, personal growth, beauty standards, gender expectations, and cultural conditioning.
Sometimes I'll talk about something I've personally experienced.
Sometimes I'll question an idea that everyone seems to accept.
And sometimes I'll simply try to understand why we behave the way we do.
I'm not here to pretend I have everything figured out. I don't.
I'm figuring things out too.
But I believe there is a lot of value in stopping for a moment and actually asking ourselves why we think the way we think.
From YouTube to this blog
Disha Talks originally started as a YouTube channel, where I share conversations and reflections around relationships, marriage psychology, self-worth, and cultural expectations.
The blog came from wanting a little more space to explore these subjects.
Some things are difficult to explain in a short video. Sometimes I want to go deeper into an idea, look at different sides of it, or simply write down something I've been thinking about for a long time.
So this website became the written side of Disha Talks.
You can watch me on YouTube, and you can come here when you want to read the longer version of the conversation.

What I want this space to be
I don't want Disha Talks to be another place where women are told how they should live.
I don't want to give you a checklist for becoming the “perfect woman.”
And I definitely don't want everything reduced to men vs. women, traditional vs. modern, or one side being completely right and the other completely wrong.
Real life is more complicated than that.
I want this to be a place where we can look at uncomfortable things honestly.
Sometimes that means questioning society.
Sometimes it means questioning our families.
And sometimes, probably the hardest part, it means questioning ourselves.
If you're dealing with an arranged marriage conversation, relationship confusion, pressure from family, insecurity about yourself, or simply trying to figure out who you are outside of everyone's expectations, I hope something here makes you stop and think.
Maybe it gives you clarity.
Maybe it makes you disagree with me.
Maybe it gives you a question you hadn't thought about before.
I'm okay with all three.
Welcome to Disha Talks.
I'm glad you're here.
